Informatics, the country’s leading IT institute, treads new ground with the launching of its Apple Training Centers that will cater to an increasing number of Mac users in the Philippines today.

The training centers will cover courses from Mac basics to the more advanced multimedia applications.

Mac Basic courses, designed for users with little or no experience operating a Mac platform, include Mac Basics (OSX Fundamentals), MyDigital Life (modules include iLife, iWeb, iPhoto, iDVD, etc.), and Documents, Spreadsheets, & Presentations using Mac iWork.

The advanced programs, on the other hand, will focus on Mac Digital Imaging using Aperture (packaged with Photoshop), and Cutting-Edge Video Editing on Mac using Final Cut Pro.

More than 25 million Apple customers are using the Mac OS X operating system globally. In the Philippines, there are over 30,000 computer customers now using the MAC OS X system.

Mac has even inspired a cult following in the country, prompting users to form their own groups and forums discussing anything about Mac from product features, troubleshooting, to user guides.

Unfortunately, Apple training centers in the country are scant and usually offer only one course, Final Cut Pro. Informatics, on the other hand, recognizes the need to offer these training courses for old and emerging Mac users.

Mac users recognize the powerful machine before them and the endless possibilities it can offer.  However, they lack the knowledge and proper tools to maximize the full features and potential of their Mac computers. Then there are the PC users who are afraid to switch to Mac because of a prevailing impression that the Mac OSX is difficult to use.

The Informatics Apple Training Centers will become the bridge to this knowledge gap. Informatics’ Mac curricula are specially designed for users with specific training requirements. Moreover, the students will learn these Mac applications through lectures and hands-on activities.

Informatics Apple Training Courses will begin classes in October. For details on the schedule and how to enroll, contact Informatics Megamall Center – 635.3608.
