Informatics Opens New Campus in Cebu

Informatics Philippines, a Singapore-based international IT and Business school, recently opened a new campus in Cebu, enhancing their educational services in the region.

The campus is an upgrade of Informatics Cebu branch which used to be located in a popular mall. Even the location is truly “Filipino international” – the campus is in Cebu’s North Reclamation Area, home of the Cebu International Convention Center which hosted the ASEAN Summit. The new and improved campus not only boasts a fresh contemporary design and state-of-the-art learning tools, but also the addition of cutting-edge new courses which meet the global IT industry’s demand. Among these new courses are Gaming and Animation Technology, where students learn to create their own games complete with graphics and sounds; as well as Digital Media Technology, where students learn studio-quality techniques for producing and editing film, video and audio. The school is also part of Microsoft’s IT Academy program, providing students with the latest Microsoft E-learning materials and many other benefits such as discounts on Microsoft products.

The Informatics Cebu building is a newly-renovated two-story structure which can accommodate 1,000 students and is fully Wi-Fi enabled. Informatics Philippines President Leo Riingen enthuses: “In 1993 I opened the first Informatics in the country, a small school inside SM Megamall. Twenty years after, I’m proud to say that we have thirty schools. We are offering new courses at the fore-front of the industry, and our presence in Cebu and other regions is stronger than ever. It’s a great time to be a Filipino studying IT.

The new building will be inaugurated this month in preparation for the 2013 school year. The school is accepting enrollees for its International Diploma courses, where the diplomas are issued by Informatics Singapore and recognized world-wide. Informatics Cebu also offers training courses for businesses and individuals who want to keep up with the times and learn new IT skills. Some of the training courses offered are Game Programming, Open Source Web Development, and 3D Animation.
